Antton - VENOM
www.venomslegions.com
Antton began his musical career as a guitarist but soon became sick and tired of trying to find a reliable Drummer.
With an elder brother being the drummer for Prefab Sprout and the Kane Gang, Antton made the most of the tools available and used to practice on his kit, playing along to bands like AC/DC and Kiss.
Hearing bands like Pantera made it clear you had to put some serious work in to play such beats confidently and so Antton set about mastering his craft.
Anttons first calling behind the kit was under the title Sanity’s Edge; we soon changed our name to Def-Con-One, who are still performing today. Check out (www.myspace.com/defcononehq)
With brother Cronos playing bass with Venom, Antton has been surrounded by the band since their creation in 1979, having seen them supported by Metallica in Paris to name but one of their high profile shows.
In the late 90’s, Antton used to attend Venom rehearsals and stand in when their original drummer was unable to rehearse. In 1999 he went in to work on the demos for the Resurrection album and through hard work, ended up flying to Germany to record the drums for the album.
Resurrection was released in 2000 and has recently been Re-released through Sanctuary Records.
Anttons first gig with Venom was in 2000, headlining the Waken open air festival in Germany to over 40.000 people, no mean feat!
In 2001 Cronos had a severe accident and the band was put on hold awaiting his recovery. During this time, Antton concentrated on his original band Def-Con-One, releasing a self financed album called Weapons of War.
In 2004 Venom got back into action with a new guitarist and began work on the album Metal Black, which was released in March 2006 through Sanctuary Records. In 2006 they went on to tour Britain headlining four major festivals in Europe - (Gods of Metal in Italy) (Sweden Rock) (Tusca Metal Festival in Finland) and (Earthshaker in Germany). In August 2006 Venom took to the states for a 10-show tour.
2007 saw Venom with a new guitarist (RAGE). New member on board, they are working on the new album taking time out of recording to for a tour of Scandinavia this May.
