Noam Leaderman

Noam Lederman is an extremely talented drummer and composer as well as author, teacher and examiner. At the age of 30 he has already recorded many studio albums, toured extensively around the globe and wrote close to 40 books that are being sold worldwide.
First and foremost Noam is a professional drummer, these are some of the current projects he is involved in:

While sitting in as the drummer in one of the West End shows in London, Noam met the Great guitarist Keith Airey (Tom Jones, Nic Kershaw) and been asked to join Keith’s band - ‘Third Stone’ .The band includes Keith Airey (Guitar), Noam Lederman (drums) Liv Airey (bass) and special guest on keyboards Don Airey (currently touring with Deep purple), former member of White snake, further credits include Gary Moore, Ozzy Osbourne and Jethro Tull.
At the moment the band is recording a new album and hoping to complete it by the end of the year. Last year Third Stone played two festivals in the UK one of which was supporting the mighty Deep Purple. After the album is finished there is a large scale tour planned as well as TV performances.
2. State of Bengal: www.stateofbengal.com
State of Bengal has been one of the most influential and prominent part of the Asian break beat scene for the last 15 years. This act plays mainly large scale festivals and is very popular in SE Asia, China, USA and Europe. Noam has been working with State Of Bengal for 4 years and played many festivals In the UK, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Asia (Womad, Sonar, Essential, Rhythm sticks, Glastonbury, Reading, Respect to name a few).
3. KFD Project
Noam’s individual project which combines world music influences with drum’n’bass beats. The live act is a duo and uses many electronic and acoustic instruments. The project is performing regularly in London and got a planned tour in Europe for 2008. The project had already one track published on a film music compilation and been asked to do more work next year for a BBC documentary.
4. Ultimate Ceili www.ultimateceili.co.uk
Noam has recently joined this up and coming Irish band which is already booked for a few festivals in 2008. ‘Ultimate Ceili is a professional Irish band with a crack rhythm section infusing a subtle but infectious mix of rock, jazz and world music influences’.
5. We Will Rock You – the west end musical
Noam has been an under study of Tony Bourke in the west end show this year. With the change of new cast later in the year Noam is planned to sit in for Tony whenever he is needed.

Rockschool was set up in 1991 to bring the best in pop and rock into mainstream education. They do this by providing exams, publications, advice and support to teachers and educational bodies. Rockschool continually expands its activities by creating partnerships and developing new qualifications. They have more than 60 exam centres in the UK and operate in 18 countries outside the UK such as: Australia, China, Dubai, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa and Thailand.
Rockschool offers a range of qualifications catering for all ages and levels of ability, including graded exams, teaching qualifications and part-time and full-time courses in conjunction with their partners.
Noam has written the new Rockschool drums syllabus (9 books), which was published in September 2006 and will be valid until 2012. In addition composed, consulted and played on the new Bass and Guitar syllabus (18 books) which came out at the same time.
The syllabus was published in 18 countries and up till now the books have sold over 50,000 copies worldwide. As Rockschool are becoming more popular and the number of candidates that apply for these exams are always growing this figure is expected to rise every year.
On his book tours, Noam travels to big drum centres/colleges/universities in all the countries in order to present and demonstrate the new syllabus. Until now he visited China, Hong kong, India, New Zealand and Thailand and this year planned to visit Mexico, India (South), South Africa, China, Hong kong, Thaliand, Singapore, and Malaysia. These tours obviously include many live performances of the syllabus, and the audience include many pro drummers, musicians, teachers and students. Outside the UK, Rockschool’s drum syllabus is very popular in Hong Kong and India.
In the near future Noam will be writing the new comprehensive companion guidebook for drums, planning the production of the first Rockschool educational DVD (with himself playing and presenting) and developing an exciting series of tutor books for drums.
2. Faber Music www.fabermusic.com
After the massive success of the Rockschool books Noam has been approached by Faber Music to write/arrange and play on some for their play along books. Until now he has been involved in 12 books which are proving to be very good sellers. The books include band like: Nirvana, Guns & Roses, Green day, Pink Floyd, REM and compilations like Rock classics and the best of Punk.
