Sebastian Hankins
Sebastian started playing the drums when he was six years old.
He currently drums for the New Seekers for all UK and European dates, Inertia Trio, Christian Silva and Love Blackout (featuring Rhianna Kenny – Faithless), as well as freelance work.
He has performed for the Queen twice, including a drum solo at Bisham Abbey, and has played all over Europe.
This year has seen him on a 40 date UK tour with the New Seekers celebrating 35 million record sales, as well as tours with Christian Silva and the Inertia trio, with both bands promoting new records (Christian Silva – Onward Christian Silva! – Something in Construction records / Inertia Trio – Better Than Blood – Little Monkey Records).
Sebastian played at the O2 Wireless Festival with Love Blackout, and is playing the Royal Albert Hall later this year with the New Seekers. He played a BBC radio session with New York band Twin Thousands as well as playing a few shows with the group on their UK tour.
Sebastian played on the New Seekers live album (‘07), and is currently in the studio with the group for a new album, as well as beginning work for the new Christian Silva release (on Something in Construction records).
With the many projects he has been involved in, Sebastian has played with such artists as Jah Wobble, Tony Faulkner, Brian Priestly, Timmy Mallet, Peter Sarstedt, Keith Potker, Dave O’Higgins, Zultan Dekeny, Rhianna Kenny and John Barwood and he has shared bills with names such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Courtney Pine, Mark Knopfler and Bony M to name but a few.
