Drummer Tom Bairstow, aged twenty-one, has been cited as one of the major young drumming talents of his generation. Tom is a powerfully physical and heavy drummer who marries his natural technical ability with a continuing fascination for exploring both deceptively simple and also intricately complex rhythms. Tom has developed a sound all his own that is the driving backbone of the band. Having drummed in various young Bradford bands, Tom came to New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack with the desire to create original and innovative rock music, and his passionate love of drumming has perfectly complemented the New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack sound. Tom is also an accomplished visual artist working in graphics and photography.
New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack are the fastest rising young rock band in the UK, with over 200 gigs played in the last two and a half years. They have supported The Stranglers, The Only Ones, Stiff Little Fingers, New Model Army and The Undertones and will support Spear Of Destiny in December 07. This year, New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack played three gigs at Glastonbury Festival in the 1,500 capacity Belle Époque Marquee and they have a travelling following ('The Community') of dedicated music fans. Formed three years ago in their home city of Bradford, New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack are dedicated to creating an authentic and original sound, and their intense and charismatic live shows have created an unmistakable vibe around the band that has attracted the attention of major names in the music industry. Their debut album, 'The Man With Four Tears' has just been completed, produced by Justin Sullivan, and two tracks are already available for download on iTunes.
