Electro Music Doncaster – Drumbeat Studios
DRUMBEAT STUDIOS was established in 1987 when 2 independent Pro drummers/teachers;
Dean Cousins and Ian West, collaborated ideas and principles to achieve
a forward thinking teaching practise.
The aim was to not only to offer tutoring towards grades in Guildhall/Trinity and
laterly Rockschool but also to help the Pro and Semi Pro drummer help
in achieving sometimes short term/immediate help in overcoming obstacles
within their own playing. This still applies today with many very
competent Pro players having short-term 'Booster' lessons or even one
off lessons.
Drumbeat has grown and grown taking on the services of Mick Yates and
moving into specially built studios within Electro Music, but still
holding onto their own independance and indentity as a seperate entity
on their own right.
In short the aim of Drumbeat is to initially ascertain a pupils aims
and objectives and then tailor the lessons with a program to suit including
learning the moeller technique. They currently still have the enviable
accolade of a 100% success rate in all grades with scores of pupils
going on to success gigging and touring on a professional level.
Drumbeat studios are sponsored my Mapex drums with new kits in the
rooms and quality pa systems.
Ian , Mick and Dean are all active Mapex endorsees , touring with Mapex
drums undertaking clinics and workshops throughout the UK.
