MAPEX M BIRCH, DREAM KITS STEAL THE SHOW AT 2005 WINTER NAMM

Several new Mapex Products took center stage as Mapex exhibited January 20-23, at the annual Winter NAMM Convention. The Winter NAMM Show is held annually in Anaheim, California and is attended by musical instrument dealers from around the world. Consequently, musical instrument manufacturers display products for dealers to review and purchase.

Mapex showed off a huge new booth design this year and displayed ten spectacular drum sets as well as Janus Hardware and Black Panther Snares. During the four-day show, it was obvious that the Mapex booth was becoming a center of attention. The exhibit attracted hundreds of dealers and visitors and Mapex enjoyed brisk business activity, meaning Mapex dealers will be fully stocked with tons of Mapex products this spring.

"The excitement generated by the NAMM show is incredible," said Mapex Vice President and General Manager Joe Vasko. "The fact that Mapex is creating its own brand of excitement this year makes it a real treat to be here. Considering the buzz we’re creating, I would deem this show an enormous success for Mapex."

Much of the activity surrounded the release of the new M Birch Series and the 2005 “Six for Five” program, where purchasers of a five-piece M Birch set receive an additional tom with mounting hardware free in 2005. Additionally, Mapex debuted the popular VX Series in two new lacquer colors, Wax Aquamarine and Flat Black.

The Orion, Saturn and Pro M Series were displayed in typical Mapex "Dream Kit" fashion that impressed everyone that passed through the exhibit. The Orion Dream Kit on display was particularly impressive – an twelve-piece monster of a drum set which included four bass drums, all decked out in a gorgeous teal burst finish.

Several high profile Mapex artists stopped by the booth during the show to say hello to dealers, including Gregg Bissonette, Judy Cocuzza, Sam Aliano, Mat Marucci, Doug Pellerin, Glen Sobel and Nick DeVirgilio. DeVirgilio, who is currently working with Tears For Fears and his own band, Spock's Beard, commented on the Mapex exhibit, "It's amazing to see such an impressive display of great gear.  Mapex is growing at an incredible rate and I’m proud to be associated with them."

The next NAMM stop for Mapex will be at the Summer NAMM show in Indianapolis in July. The company is already preparing to show off its wares this summer. "Summer NAMM will be a lot of fun for Mapex," said Jeff Ivester, Director of Marketing. "We’re already in the process preparing some new gear that will create a ton of excitement for the holiday selling season this fall."
